To me the process isn't about services, it's about doing everything necessary to make a memorable song.
Before we step foot into the studio, I take each artist through a pre-production process.
This is to make sure your songs are in the best shape possible before heading in to record.
Organization is also key part of the creative process so we'll map out the entire project so everyone is on the same page ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
RECORDING AND MIXING
This is where we go into the studio to execute the songs. Through concentration, collaboration, determination and sometimes experimentation, we press record and capture the best performances for each part of the song.
This can be a band all at once or just starting with drums and then overdubbing... every artist is different and some songs require different approaches.
Once we've tracked the songs, we shift along into the mixing stage - editing, tweaking, fine tuning, amending and then balancing and processing to make sure the track sounds as good as it can do.
At this point we've worked hard on the music, but the process doesn't stop there.
It's my mission to make sure that you have clarity around ‘what to do next'.
Based on your specific needs, we can forumlate a framework and an all round game plan so you can start confidently getting your songs out there and heard. As well as offering advice and insight on other aspects too.
I've produced thousands of tracks and worked with hundreds of artists. From Grammy winners to up and comers.
My experience in the studio goes back to when I was a young musician, and being creative in the studio was what used to get me excited the most.
So that's all I've ever done since then, recording music and producing artists not only in the studio but I've worked in warehouses, factories, outdoors, people's houses, basements, attics... everyone has different needs so I always work hard and as smart as possible to make sure we can record the best music possible, get those songs heard by more people and always trying to progress further.
Being a producer is all about helping artists to get what's in their head to come out of the speakers.
It offers a huge live room, a very rare, 1976 hand-wired MIDAS mixing console as well as being steeped in Manchester musical history and heritage. It's a hidden gem, tucked away just off the bustling Cheetham Hill high street.
It's the perfect place to inspire great music and create memories. And that's what I want for the artists I work with.
